Strongdog

Strongdog is a new sport that is similar to Earthdog but instead of working the rats at the end of the tunnel, the idea is for the dog to enter, go to end of the tunnel, latch onto a simulated quarry (approx 20-25 pounds for large dogs, 15 pounds for small) and return to the tunnel entrance, "politely" delivering it to the handler.

Originally designed for all large and bull terriers (Glens, Irish, Kerry, Wheaten, Staff Bull, etc.) and small earthdog type terriers and dachshunds, all dogs are invited to try their abilities with NABSA.

The tunnel is a 20-foot underground liner, with an opening of 11” by 11”, with one 90-degree turn and two 45-degree turns. For newbies and less-experienced dogs, we set up a five-foot liner above ground to give some experience of going through a tunnel.
